5 Skin Types as observed in human beings

“What is your skin type?” A very common question people come across while buying facial skin care products. However, a lot of people do not have clear idea about their skin type! If you are one of them, let me tell you that there are different tests that you can take to know what type of skin you have. Today, I am going to discuss the basics of skin type so that you can get a better idea about your skin.Â

The skin type is determined by the amount of oil secreted by your skin. These are the five skin types: oily, combination, sensitive, dry and sun damaged. Genes, your food habit, medication, level of stress and your skincare treatment highly influence your skin type.Â

Oily skin type: Oily skin often gets sticky with so much oil content on the outer surface of the skin. The pores get enlarged. Oil attracts dirt naturally; hence oily skin is more prone to blemishes and blackheads. People with oily skin often feel tightness.Â

Combination skin type: Most people have combination type of skin; hence it is also known as normal skin type. As the name suggests it is a combination of both oily and dry skin. With medium-sized pores, combination skin often gets dry on the cheeks but oily on forehead, temples of forehead and nose, i.e., on the T-zone.Â

Sensitive skin type: Sensitive skin is thin and possesses very fine pores. Sensitive skin often suffers from broken capillaries and allergies. Different types of rashes are often observed on sensitive skin. This is a very delicate skin type and requires steady care.Â

Dry skin type: Dead skin cell buildup make dry skins look dull and change the normal skin complexion. Dry skin lacks oil and moisturizer and suffers wrinkles and flakes. People with dry skin often report tightness after bathing or cleansing.Â

Sun Damaged skin type: Skin with sort of irreversible damages due to exposure to the sunlight or aging. Wrinkles around cheeks and in the eye area, loose toning etc. are the symbols of sun damaged skin.Â

There are different easy tests that help you identify your skin type. Your facial products should be suitable for your skin type. Visit some online cologne shops for wide range of skincare products at reduced price.
